Protecting our Study Participants
Your safety is a priority at our research clinic. Hundreds of people participate in our clinical trials and to ensure your safety and protect your health, all studies have to be reviewed and approved by an independent regulatory agency, such as Health Canada, and a second time by the hospital or the UBC Research Ethics Board (REB).
Our research staff monitors all participants to ensure that health and safety are protected. Remember that you have the right to drop out of a clinical trial at any time.
Your confidentiality is always protected, regardless of your involvement in clinical research trials. If a research is published, your personal information is not shared and only demographics and data acquired during the study are used to be compiled with those of other people. Personal information is not shared.
